Our Story

A name that became a purpose

For most of my life, photographs were the only way I knew my paternal grandparents.

They both passed before I was born. My parents gave me the middle name Nuri in honor of my grandmother — a name that means “My Light.” At the time, it was simply a name. Years later, it would become the name of a company inspired by memory, connection, and the people who continue to light our lives long after they're gone.

I was fortunate to grow up with my other grandparents. After they passed, I found myself sorting through old family photographs while preparing memorial displays—the smiles, the faces, the moments we never wanted to forget.

Around that time, I discovered something remarkable. Those still photographs could move. A familiar smile could return. A treasured memory could feel present again. For the first time, memories that felt distant seemed just a little closer. What started as curiosity quickly became deeply personal.

For the first time, I wasn't just looking at old photos. I felt connected to them in a completely new way.

That experience inspired Nuri.

We created Nuri to help families reconnect with the people and moments that matter most—not to replace memories, but to deepen them. To transform cherished photographs into living keepsakes that can be seen, shared, and experienced in a way that feels surprisingly human.

And while we can't bring back the moments we've lost, we can bring them a little closer.
